"Gas Invest" Ltd. was founded in 2002 as a joint stock company following the initiative of Belgrade Chamber of Commerce.
The basic idea of the establishment was to associate small and medium-sized enterprises from private sector, which recognized their areas of activities and achievement of the objectives of development in the energy sector.

At the moment of foundation, most of the founders were involved in the implementation of various projects on gasification of towns and municipalities in Serbia. By joining into the joint stock company, they were given the chance to improve their performance and compete for the implementation of large projects in the field of gasification across Serbia, using their joint forces and available resources, both in terms of financial capability, as well as performing activities.
In 2003, the successful performance of the company began from the gasification of the city of Čačak.
In 2007, according to the decision of the Assembly of Joint Stock Company, "Jugotrade" Ltd. increased the capital of a joint stock company, allowing the company to become majority owner of the joint stock company with more than 92% of shares. In July 2012, "Jugotrade" Ltd. became the sole owner of "Gas Invest" company, when the company changed its legal form from the Joint Stock Company to a Limited liability company.
New organizational setting brought the successful continuation of gasification of the city of Čačak and "Gas Invest" Ltd. became recognized as a successful, high-quality and reliable partner in gasification, and was chosen for a strategic partner on gasification of Bač and the town of Požarevac.
In September 2015, all the contracts were signed for the realization of gasification program of Braničevo district for municipalities Malo Crniće, Kučevo, Petrovac na Mlavi, Veliko Gradište, Žagubica, Golubac and Žabari which, practically, marked the beginning of gasification of this part of the Republic of Serbia. The planned length of the gas distribution network of low- pressure, in the first stage of construction, is 810 km, while in the second phase, additional 600 km network is planned to be constructed. The projected supply of medium-pressure gas pipeline will extend from the main GMRS (Gas Metering and Regulating Stations) Ljubičevo to Žagubica and Golubac, passing through all the municipalities of the district in the length of 240 km.
It is planned to complete the construction of the gas pipeline network Branicevo district until the year of 2020, and the first consumer power supply is expected to be implemented until the beginning of heating season of 2017/2018.
